Adoniran Barbosa was born as João Rubinato on August 6, 1910, in Valinhos, São Paulo, Brazil. He had a large family with six siblings and was the son of Emma Rubitano and Fernando. He had two marriages: first to Olga Rodrigues from 1936 to 1937, with whom he had a daughter named Maria Helena, and later to Matilde, starting their relationship in 1937 and staying together until his death.

Death and Legacy

Adoniran Barbosa passed away on November 23, 1982, in São Paulo, Brazil. His work in film and music left a significant impact on Brazilian culture, and he is remembered fondly for his contributions to the arts. He also has a grandson named Alfredo, who continues his family’s legacy.
