He was married twice, first to Janet Manson from 1946 until her death in 1961, and later to Corey Rose Lang from 2001 until his own death in 2002. Manson appeared in numerous Broadway shows, such as “Funny Girl,” where he portrayed Florenz Ziegfeld Jr., and Irving Berlin’s “This Is the Army.” After serving in World War II, he returned to Broadway, but faced challenges during the 1950s when he was called to testify before a committee investigating communism in the theater industry.
