Career

After his naval service, Alan began his show business career as a stage manager in New York City. He first appeared on Broadway in the successful play “Plain and Fancy” in the 1950s and later transitioned to acting in films and television during the 1970s. He became known for playing roles such as cops, priests, and academics, with his most famous character being Chief Ed Hocken in the comedy series “Police Squad!”.

Death and Legacy
