Born on February 16, 1962, in New York City, Alexa Kenin came from a family involved in the arts. Her father, Dr. Michael Kenin, was a physician, and her mother, Maya Kenin, was an actress. Alexa started her acting career at a young age, quickly making a name for herself in television and film.
Career
Kenin’s first major role was in the made-for-television film The House Without a Christmas Tree in 1972, where she starred alongside Jason Robards. She gained further acclaim for her performance in Honkytonk Man (1982) opposite Clint Eastwood. Her last role was as Jena in the John Hughes classic Pretty in Pink, released in 1986.
Death and Legacy
Alexa Kenin was found dead in her Manhattan apartment on September 10, 1985, shortly after filming Pretty in Pink. The film was later dedicated to her memory. Evidence suggests her passing was due to complications from asthma, although the exact cause remains unknown.
