Aneta Corsaut was born to Opal J. Corsaut and Jesse Harrison Corsaut. She studied drama at Northwestern University and left during her junior year to pursue her acting career. She made her television debut in 1955 and gained fame with her role in the 1958 cult classic movie The Blob alongside Steve McQueen. Aneta’s most iconic role was as schoolteacher Helen Crump on The Andy Griffith Show, a character she portrayed from 1963 to 1968 and reprised in later projects. Throughout her career, she appeared in several other television series and films.
