Ann Christy

Ann Christy was an American actress who is best known for Speedy, The Water Hole, and Dream House.

Personal and Family Life

Born Gladys Cronin on May 31, 1905, in Logansport, Indiana, she was known for her striking blue eyes and petite stature. Ann married Robert Lee More Jr. in 1933, and they remained together until his death in 1972. Despite her brief success in Hollywood, she spent much of her later life away from the film industry.

Career

Ann Christy started her acting career with a small role in the film Long Pants (1927). Following that, she was selected as a WAMPAS Baby Star in 1928, appearing in multiple short comedies and gaining recognition as the ideal co-star for Harold Lloyd in Speedy. However, after a promising start, her career dwindled, and she retired from acting in 1932.

Death and Legacy

Ann Christy passed away on November 14, 1987, from a heart attack in Vernon, Texas. Although her career was short-lived, her contributions to early Hollywood remain a part of cinema history. She is remembered for her performances in silent films and her role in the comedic classic Speedy.
