Ann attended Santa Rosa Junior College before being signed by Warner Brothers in 1940, where she adopted the stage name Ann Edmonds. She was the daughter of Josephine Morse and Courtland Wilson and had a cousin, Wini Shaw, who was a famous singer and actress.
