Annabella was married three times. Her first husband was Jean Murat, with whom she had one child, and they divorced in 1938. She then married famous actor Tyrone Power in 1939, who later adopted her daughter. Their marriage lasted until 1948. She had a close relationship with her ex-husband and was seen visiting him on the set of his last film shortly before his untimely death.

At the age of 16, Annabella made her film debut in Napoleon (1927), where she caught the attention of audiences. Throughout the 1930s, she became a prominent star in French films, eventually moving to Hollywood in 1938.
