Born as Anne Mobley on March 27, 1929, in Omaha, Nebraska, she was raised in a family with strong connections; her father was an insurance executive, and her mother was involved with the Girl Scouts. After attending exclusive schools, including Rosemary Hall and Bennington College, she began her acting career in theater. She married fellow actor Logan Ramsey in 1954, and together they started Philadelphia’s Theatre of the Living Arts.
