Annie Rosar was born on May 17, 1888, in Vienna, Austria-Hungary. She was married twice, first to Max Walser, with whom she had a son, and later to Franz Rebiczek. Sadly, her son was killed during World War II. Her marriages ended in divorce.
Career
Rosar began her acting career on stage in 1910 at the Vienna Lustspieltheater. With the promotion of Max Reinhardt, she gained recognition as a comic talent and performed at prominent theaters like the Burgtheater and the Theater in der Josefstadt. She later transitioned to film, becoming well-known for her supporting roles in over 100 movies, often appearing alongside Hans Moser.
Death and Legacy
Annie Rosar passed away on August 5, 1963, in Vienna, Austria, due to heart disease. Despite mainly playing supporting roles, her performances left a lasting impact, particularly in the film “Der veruntreute Himmel,” seen as a career highlight.
