Anthony Alonzo was born to Alfredo Hernandez and Lourdes Viana. He had a sister, Alicia Alonzo, who is also an actress in the Filipino film industry. He completed his elementary education at Marulas Elementary School and high school at Espiritu Santo High School before studying Commerce at the Mapua Institute of Technology.
Career
Under the stage name Anthony Alonzo, he starred in many action films, gaining fame in the 1980s. Some of his notable works include “Bambang,” for which he won the Best Actor award from FAMAS, and films like “Manila Gangwar” and “The Fighting Mayor.” He was also politically active and ran for councilor during the 1992 Metro Manila elections.
