He was married twice, first to Zelma O’Neal from 1928 to 1935, and later to Anne Pearce-Serocold in 1955. He had a close friendship with famous actor Laurence Olivier and served in the army during World War II, where he earned the rank of Major.
Career
Bushell began his acting career on stage in 1924. He had significant roles in several films and was known for portraying military characters. He achieved fame in Hollywood through performances in major films such as Five Star Final and The Black Knight. Aside from acting, he also directed television episodes until retiring in 1964, later taking up a position at the Monte Carlo Golf Club.
