For almost fifty years, he was a prominent figure on the TOBA circuit, often performing with his wife and partner. During World War II, he, along with Estrellita, entertained troops by touring army camps in both Europe and the Pacific for the USO.

Apus Brooks passed away in June 1971 in the Bronx, New York. His contributions to vaudeville and comedic performance left a lasting impact on the industry, marking him as a significant figure in the entertainment scene of his time.
