Archil Gomiashvili

Archil Gomiashvili was an American actor who is best known for his roles in Twelve Chairs, Komediya davno minuvshikh dney, and Stalingrad. He was born on March 23, 1926, in Chiatura, Georgian SSR, and passed away on May 31, 2005, in Moscow, Russia.

Archil Gomiashvili was married twice. His first marriage was to Liana Gomiashvili, with whom he had two children. He later married Tatyana Fedorovna, and together they had two more children. His son, Mikheil Gomiashvili, followed in his footsteps to become an actor.

Archil Gomiashvili died on May 31, 2005, from cancer in Moscow. He is remembered for his impactful roles in Soviet cinema and for taking over the role of Ostap Bender after Vladimir Vysotskiy could no longer perform due to health issues.
