Barry Atwater was the son of Garrett Barry Atwater Sr. and Wilhelmina Thudichum. He was also the son of landscape painter Barry Atwater, who had a significant influence on his artistic endeavors. Atwater was known for his tall and sinewy appearance which suited him for playing tough characters in various films and television shows.

Career

Atwater’s acting career began after a small role in the Oscar-winning short student film A Time Out of War (1954). He later appeared on stage and television, gaining recognition for his character roles. Notably, he was praised for his portrayal of Janos Skorzeny in the pilot movie The Night Stalker and Surak in Star Trek.

Death and Legacy
