Bek Nelson began her career in the mid-1940s as a swimsuit model and became a singer at the Copacabana nightclub in New York ten years later. She was married to actor Don Gordon, and they adopted a daughter named Gabrielle in 1966. Nelson maintained her residence in the Santa Cruz area of California until her death.
