Born Catherine B B Milnes on April 1, 1930, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, she was married to Michael Anthony from 1954 until their divorce in 1973. They had two children, including actress and producer Lysette Anthony. Bernadette was also a grandmother to Jack Boswell and James Anthony Boswell.

Health Challenges

Throughout her life, Bernadette struggled with manic depression and schizophrenia. She was known to be the second actress cast as Mrs. Alexander in A Clockwork Orange but had to leave due to the challenging physical demands of the role.
