Betsy was born on March 14, 1921, in St. Paul, Minnesota. She had a close relationship with her father, J. King Ross, a talented horse trainer who worked with many traveling circuses. Although she started her career in acting, she decided at about the age of 13 that she no longer wanted to pursue it. After marrying an engineer named Day, she lived on a large ranch in South America with him, where they had a son, as per Betsy’s wishes.

Betsy King Ross passed away on October 4, 1989, in Los Angeles, California. Despite her early withdrawal from acting, she is remembered for her courage and skills, especially in horseback riding.
