Bob Saget

Bob Saget was an American actor, stand-up comedian, and television host from Philadelphia. He is best known for his role as Danny Tanner on the popular sitcom “Full House” (1987–1995), and its sequel “Fuller House” (2016–2020). Saget was also the original host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” from 1989 to 1997 and voiced the narrator in “How I Met Your Mother” (2005–2014).

Bob Saget was born on May 17, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to a Jewish family. His parents were Benjamin M. Saget, a supermarket executive, and Dolly Saget, a hospital administrator. He had two sisters, Andrea and Gay, the latter of whom passed away from scleroderma, a disease that influenced Saget’s later work. He was married twice, first to Sherri Kramer from 1982 to 1997, and then to Kelly Rizzo from 2018 until his passing in 2022.

Saget began his career in comedy during college at Temple University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978.
