Brigid Bazlen was an American actress who is best known for How the West Was Won, King of Kings, and The Honeymoon Machine.
Personal and Family Life
Brigid Bazlen was born on June 9, 1944, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Arthur Bazlen, a retail chain executive, and Maggie Daly, a Chicago newspaper columnist. Brigid was discovered at the young age of seven by an NBC executive while waiting for the school bus. Throughout her life, she was married twice; first to Jean-Paul Vignon from 1966 to 1967 and then to Marlin Greene from 1969 to 1976.
Career
At fifteen, Bazlen was hailed as “the next Elizabeth Taylor” and was marketed as “the new American Bardot” during her contract with MGM. Although she signed an exclusive contract with M-G-M Studios in 1961, she only appeared in three films: King of Kings, The Honeymoon Machine, and How the West Was Won. She also starred as the Blue Fairy in a WGN production when she was just thirteen years old.
Death and Legacy
Brigid Bazlen passed away on May 25, 1989, in Seattle, Washington, due to cancer. Despite a brief career, she left a mark in the film industry and is remembered for her early promise and performances. Her legacy continues through her work, which is still appreciated by fans of classic cinema.
