Burt Kwouk

Burt Kwouk was a British actor, who is best known for his role as Cato in the Pink Panther films, and for playing Mr. Ling in the James Bond film, Goldfinger. He was born on July 18, 1930, in Warrington, Cheshire, England, and raised in Shanghai.

Burt Kwouk was married to Caroline Leigh from 1961 until his death in 2016, and they had one child together. He grew up in a multicultural environment, which influenced his acting career.

Career

Kwouk made his film debut in the 1957 movie Windom’s Way. He portrayed memorable characters in various films, including Mr. Ling in Goldfinger, and Cato in several Pink Panther films. He also had appearances in popular television series such as Doctor Who and Last of the Summer Wine.

Death and Legacy

Burt Kwouk passed away on May 24, 2016, at the age of 85 after a battle with cancer. He was recognized for his contributions to acting, receiving the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) title in 2011.
