C.K. Yang was born on July 10, 1932, in Taitung, Taiwan. He was married to Daisy Yang until his passing in 2007, and they had two children together, sons Cedric and C.K. Jr. Yang was also a talented athlete, known for his achievements in track and field.

C.K. Yang passed away on January 27, 2007, in Los Angeles, California, due to a stroke. His legacy includes not only his work in film but also his remarkable athletic achievements, including a silver medal in the 1960 Olympic decathlon for Taiwan and a world record set at the 1963 Asian Games.
