Carmen Dolores was born on April 22, 1924, in Lisbon, Portugal. She was the daughter of José de Matos Sarmento de Beja and María del Pilar Manuela Cohen y Muñoz, and she had siblings including Maria Luísa Cohen Sarmento and António Fernando Cohen Sarmento. She married Vítor Manuel Carneiro Veres on April 30, 1947, and had one son named Rui Manuel Sarmento Veres, born in 1948.

Death and Legacy

Carmen Dolores passed away on February 15, 2021, in Lisbon, Portugal. She was recognized for her contributions to Portuguese cinema and was awarded the Ordem do Infante D. Henrique, one of Portugal’s highest honors, by President Jorge Sampaio in 2005. Her legacy continues through her films and the impact she had on the Portuguese acting community.
