Cathy Godbold was an Australian actress who is best known for her roles in Newlyweds, The Saddle Club, and Home and Away. She was born on September 23, 1974, and gained popularity for her performances in various television shows and movies.

Personal and Family Life

Cathy was born into a family with a strong connection to the entertainment industry; her mother was the famous television personality Rosemary Margan. She had four siblings: Matthew, Timothy, Annabel, and Melissa. Despite her successful career, Cathy never married and had no children but was an aunt to seven nieces and nephews, showing her deep connection to her family.

Illness and Struggles

In May 2007, Cathy was diagnosed with her first brain tumor shortly after The Saddle Club was renewed for a third season. She had surgery to remove the tumor and underwent radiotherapy, which left her unable to work for several years. In January 2018, she was diagnosed with a second brain tumor, which was deemed terminal. Unfortunately, after battling her illness for over a decade, Cathy passed away on May 4, 2018, in Melbourne.

Death and Legacy

Cathy Godbold’s death came just six months after her mother, Rosemary Margan, also lost her life due to cancer. Cathy was buried in Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Victoria. Her legacy continues through her work in television, where she is remembered fondly by fans and fellow actors alike.
