Charita Bauer began her career as a model at age eight before transitioning to acting. She made her Broadway debut as a child actress in the 1933 production “Thunder on the Left” and worked in radio broadcasting on the children’s show “Let’s Pretend.” Bauer married Robert Stanley Crawford on August 23, 1944, but they later divorced, and they had one child together.

Death and Legacy

Charita Bauer died on February 28, 1985, due to complications from diabetes. She is remembered for her significant contributions to the world of daytime television, particularly for her long-running role on Guiding Light. In recognition of her impact on the industry, she was portrayed by actress Kim Zimmer for the show’s 70th Anniversary program.
