Born on July 28, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Charles Biddle Sr. moved to Canada in 1948 and became a Canadian citizen in 2000. He was married to Constance until his death on February 4, 2003. Together they had three children: Charles Biddle Jr., Sonya Biddle, and Stephanie Biddle.

Charles Biddle Sr. passed away on February 4, 2003, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Less than a month before his death, he was honored as a member of the Order of Canada for his contributions to music.
