Born on May 12, 1885, in Yenne, Savoie, France, Charles Dullin was married to Marcelle Charles Dullin from October 14, 1919, until their divorce. He was an influential figure in the French theater scene, co-founding the Cartel des Quatre in 1927 alongside notable peers Louis Jouvet, Gaston Baty, and Georges Pitoëff.

Charles Dullin passed away on December 11, 1949, at Hôpital Saint-Antoine in Paris, France. His contributions to theater and film are recognized, and the area in front of his Théâtre de l’Atelier commemorates his legacy.
