Chrissie White was born Ada Constance White on May 23, 1895, in London, England. She married her co-star and sometimes director, Henry Edwards, in 1922, and they had one child together. The couple worked on 16 films, although only two have survived. White was known for her light hair and beauty, becoming a popular star in her teenage years.

Career

White’s popularity peaked with the “Tilly the Tomboy” film series, where she starred alongside Alma Taylor. Despite her fame, she chose to retire early in the 1920s, disappointing many fans who admired her talent. After her retirement, she made only a few appearances in films.

Death and Legacy

Chrissie White passed away on August 18, 1989, from a heart attack in Liss, Hampshire, England. She left a significant mark on early cinema as one of its few surviving links, remembered for her delicate beauty and memorable performances.
