Christopher Allport was married twice; his first marriage was to Carolyn Jones from 1979 until their divorce in 1990, and he later married Susan Elizabeth Hayden in 1993. Together with Hayden, he had one child, and he had another child from his first marriage. Allport was the son of Alexander Wise Allport Sr. and Jane Gardiner Raible. At the time of his death, he was living in Santa Monica, California.
