Claire Carleton

Claire Carleton was an American actress known for her roles in The Mickey Rooney Show, Death of a Salesman, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. She was born Clara Marie Clough on September 28, 1913, in Brooklyn, New York, and passed away on December 11, 1979, in Northridge, California.

Claire was married twice, first to Walter Lewis Beadle from 1934 to 1938, then to Fred Sherman from 1944 until his death in 1969. She was the daughter of George M. Carleton and Marie Zeiner. Throughout her life, she maintained her career in acting, performing on Broadway and in numerous films and television shows.

Claire was a well-known supporting actress, often portraying characters with streetwise or wisecracking personalities. Her career spanned from 1932 to 1950 on Broadway, and she also appeared in comedic shorts alongside The Three Stooges.
