Cliff Arquette was born as Clifford Charles Arquette on December 28, 1905, in Toledo, Ohio. He was married twice and had a total of one child, Lewis Arquette. Arquette’s family includes several notable actors, such as his grandchildren Rosanna, Patricia, David, and Alexis Arquette, along with great-grandchildren like Zoë Bleu Sidel and Coco Arquette.

Career

Arquette gained fame as a comedian and actor, especially for his role as Charley Weaver, which he played on The Hollywood Squares for eight years starting in 1966. He created this character on The Jack Paar Show and frequently appeared in commercials. In addition to acting, he was also a talented musician and songwriter, joining the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) in 1959.

Death and Legacy

Cliff Arquette passed away on September 23, 1974, in Burbank, California, from a stroke.
