Daisy Belmore was born as Daisy Gertrude Belmore Garstin and spent her early years in London. She moved to the United States in 1910 and made her theatrical debut at just six years old in a Shakespeare play. Belmore was married to Samuel Waxman, an importer, from April 26, 1902, until their separation in 1923, and they had two children together. Her brother, Lionel Belmore, was also a notable actor and director.

Daisy Belmore passed away from a heart attack on December 12, 1954, in New York City.
