David Ashrow was married to the actress June Allyson from October 30, 1976, until her death on July 8, 2006. He had a diverse family background; his parents were both Russian Jews who immigrated to the U.S. His father, James, was born in Russia in 1888 and his mother, Edith, was born in 1888 as well. David was the youngest child, having three older sisters and stepchildren named Pamela and Richard Powell.
