Personal and Family Life
David Eddings was born in Columbia, Tennessee, but he grew up in East Nashville. He graduated from Coffee County High School in 1957 and later worked as a projectionist at WTVF for six and a half years. In 1964, he joined the police academy and served as a Lieutenant with the Metro Police Department until his retirement in 2000. He was one of the original Newman Raiders and also taught firearm and traffic safety at the Police Academy. David cherished his family and was especially proud to be called “Pawpaw” and “Grandpa.”
