David Hofman was an American actor best known for his roles in Crowning Glory, The Fame of Grace Darling, and his work as a BBC announcer. He also founded the Oxford publishing company George Ronald Publishers.

David Hofman was born on September 23, 1908, in Poona, Bombay Presidency, British India. He had two marriages, first to Olympic athlete Marion Holley, with whom he had two children, and later to Kathleen. He was the brother of Richard Antony and practiced The Bahá’í Faith.
