Davy Kaye was born David Kodeish on April 25, 1916, in London, England. He had East End Jewish roots and was known for his short stature, standing at just 4 feet 11 inches. He was married to Hazel Wilson, with whom he had one child, but they later divorced. Kaye was also a father to Kaplan Kaye and Melody Kaye.
Career
Kaye began his career in comedy, performing in variety and revue shows. He joined the BBC and became a popular late-night comedian at the Embassy Club in London from 1954 to 1968. Despite not serving in World War II due to his height, he made significant contributions to entertainment and was recognized with an MBE for his charity work.
Death and Legacy
