Dawn Addams was the daughter of Captain James Ramage Addams and Ethel Mary Addams. She had two marriages: first to Vittorio Massimo, with whom she had one child, and later to James White, who she married in 1974. Addams spoke French and Italian fluently and was educated at various schools in England and America, having been a wartime evacuee to the United States during World War II.

Career

After graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), Dawn began her career on the stage, touring Britain and Europe. She signed with MGM in 1950 and starred in her first film, Night Into Morning (1951). Known for her beauty, she was in several prominent films throughout the early 1950s, but by the 1960s, the nature of the roles available to her had changed, leading her to mainly perform in European co-productions and stage plays.

Death and Legacy

Dawn Addams passed away on May 7, 1985, in London due to cancer at the age of 54. Despite a varied career, her later years were marred by ill health and a decline in prominent acting roles.
