Delia Bogard attended the Lawlor Professional School for young performers, where she learned under the guidance of Viola F. Lawlor. In March 1939, she was attacked in Los Angeles by a man with a piece of wood, resulting in a severe head injury. Despite this traumatic event, she managed to recover.
