Personal and Family Life
Born Dolores Marie Loehr on July 5, 1926, in Los Angeles, California, Diana Lynn showed her talent early as a child prodigy pianist. She was first married to architect John Carl Lindsay from 1948 to 1954. Later, she married Mortimer Wadhams Hall, with whom she had four children. The family lived in New York City for a time due to Hall’s job at the New York Post.
Career
Diana Lynn, initially known as “Dolly,” signed with Paramount Pictures in 1942, after which her name was changed to Diana Lynn. Throughout her career, she starred in several successful films and had a brief, but impactful, television career. Although she semi-retired in the late 1960s to run a travel agency in New York, she returned to acting for a role in “Play It As It Lays” in 1971 but unfortunately passed away before filming.
Death and Legacy
Diana Lynn died on December 18, 1971, at the age of 45 from a stroke while in Los Angeles. Though her career was short-lived, her performances, especially in classic films, left a lasting impression on the industry and her fans.
