Dick Purcell was born on August 6, 1905, in Greenwich, Connecticut. He was briefly married to Ethelind Terry from March to August 1942, but they divorced shortly after. Purcell did not have any children.
Death and Legacy
Dick Purcell passed away on April 10, 1944, in Hollywood, California, due to a heart attack. He was found in the locker room after finishing a round of golf. Purcell is remembered as the first actor to portray Captain America on screen and for his strong performances in Warner Bros. B-movies of the 1930s and 1940s.
