Dick Rivers

Dick Rivers was an American artist known for his work in music and film. He gained fame as a rock n’ roll singer and later transitioned to acting, having a significant impact in both fields throughout his career.

Personal and Family Life

Born on April 24, 1945, in Nice, France, Dick Rivers’ real name was Hervé Émile Forneri. He was married to Micheline David-Boyer from April 24, 1965, until their divorce, during which they had one child named Pascal Forneri. Rivers had a passion for music from a young age, starting his career in a band at just 15 years old.

Career

Rivers recorded his first single with the French rock n’ roll band Les Chats Sauvages in 1961. He left the band after a year and continued as a solo performer. Unlike other popular French rock artists of the time, he only began his acting career in 1999 under the direction of Jean-Pierre Mocky. Rivers also hosted a radio show in Monte Carlo where he shared stories about rock n’ roll.

Death and Legacy

On April 24, 2019, Dick Rivers passed away in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, after battling cancer. His contributions to the music and film industries have left a lasting legacy, inspiring future generations of artists. Rivers is remembered for his unique style and dedication to rock n’ roll.
