Dickie Valentine was originally born Richard Brice. He began his career as a singer with the Ted Heath Band before pursuing a solo career. He was also one of the first performers of the song “Christmas Island” by Lyle Moraine. He was the father of TV director Richard Valentine and at one point lived in Shepperton, just three doors away from famous singer Tom Jones.
