Born on June 4, 1921, in Brooklyn, New York City, Don Diamond was of Russian Jewish descent. He attended the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in drama and studied Spanish. He married Louisa Tassler in 1965 and had one child. Diamond served in World War II but was classified as unfit for combat due to myopia.

Diamond’s acting career began in the early 1940s, after which he gained fame for picking up various dialects, particularly Spanish. His remarkable skill led to roles as a Mexican sidekick in several shows, including The Adventures of Kit Carson and Zorro. He was best known for playing Crazy Cat in the western comedy series F Troop.
