He was married three times, first to Libby Bennett, then to Fay Devereux Keith, and finally to Janet Marilyn McAuliffe. He had one child, Dan Haggerty, who is not to be confused with him despite the similar names. Haggerty enjoyed a successful career in film and television, often playing tough-guy roles.
