Douglas MacLean married four times throughout his life. His spouses included Faith Adelaide Cole, Lorraine MacLean, Barbara Barondess, and Florence Barton. He had a variety of interests outside of acting, such as golfing, swimming, and driving. Before becoming an actor, he worked as a bond salesman in Philadelphia and received his education at Northwestern University Preparatory School and the Lewis Institute of Technology in Chicago.
Death and Legacy
MacLean passed away on July 9, 1967, in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, due to a stroke. He started his film career in 1914 and was known for his comedic talent during the silent film era. Although his career declined with the introduction of sound films, his contributions to early cinema continue to be remembered.
