Dudley Sutton was born on April 6, 1933, in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, England. He was married twice; first to Marjorie Steele from 1961 until their divorce in 1965, with whom he had one child, and later to Joan D Walker. Before pursuing acting, Sutton served four years in the Royal Air Force as a mechanic before training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Career

Sutton had a diverse career, beginning with the avant-garde Theatre Workshop Company and became notable for his role in the groundbreaking gay film, The Leather Boys, where he played a gay biker. His career faced challenges in the late 1960s due to an alcohol issue, but he revitalized it after starring in Ken Russell’s surreal horror film, The Devils, in 1971. He also made appearances in various television series, including My Partner the Ghost and its remake, Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased).
