Dulcina was the daughter of actor Atila Moraes and actress Conchita de Moraes. She was named in honor of her maternal grandmother, Dulcina de Los Rios Vallina, who was also an actress. Her family had a strong theatrical background, and her career began at just 15 years old when she joined Viriato Correa’s theater company. She married fellow actor and entrepreneur Odilon Azevedo in 1930, and together they formed their own theater company.

In 1934, she, along with her husband, established the Dulcina-Odilon Theatrical Company, renowned for producing works by significant playwrights such as Federico García Lorca and George Bernard Shaw. She directed and starred in various successful plays throughout her career, such as “Rain,” which she performed for 15 years, and founded the “Fundação Brasileira de Teatro” in 1955 to nurture new talent.

Dulcina de Moraes passed away on August 27, 1996, in Brasília, at the age of 88.
