Ed Hinton

Ed Hinton was an American actor who is best known for his roles in “Cry Terror!”, “While the City Sleeps”, and “The Decks Ran Red”. He was born on March 26, 1919, in Wilmington, North Carolina, and tragically died in an airplane crash on October 12, 1958, in Catalina Island, California.

Personal and Family Life

Edgar Latimer Hinton Jr. was married twice. His first wife was Margaret Roach, with whom he had a brief marriage from August 21, 1942, to August 1945. He later married Marilynn Jean Mau on October 14, 1950, and they had three children together: Daryn, Darcy, and Darby Hinton. Hinton was also a grandfather to Dakota and Ryder Hinton.

Death and Legacy

Ed Hinton’s life ended prematurely due to a tragic airplane accident. He was one of three passengers killed when the single-engine plane he was on struck a cliff and crashed into Toyon Bay. The accident occurred in view of his family, who had come to the boat club to say goodbye as he was set to begin filming in Utah the following day.
