Edward Gilbert White was born on March 17, 1947, in Bellaire, Maryland. From a young age, he showed talent in art and attended a special art school, where he outperformed his teacher. He later earned a degree in engineering and technical drawing, which led him to work in New York designing factory machines.

Career

In the 1970s, White moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he opened the Red Dog Saloon and several other nightclubs. His nightclub business became notable when he lost the Kozmic Ball Room to a songwriter in a pool game, making local headlines. He also owned art galleries and jewelry shops in various cities before transitioning to jewelry-making full-time in Costa Rica.

Death and Legacy

Ed White passed away from cancer on April 5, 2004, in Tijuana, Mexico. He was a beloved figure in Costa Rica, known for his generosity, especially during Christmas when he portrayed Santa Claus for children in need. His artistic and entrepreneurial spirit left a lasting impact on his community.
