Eddie Byrne

Eddie Byrne was married to Kitty, and they had four children together: Frank, Susan, Michael, and Catherine Byrne, the latter of whom is both an actress and a sculptor. Throughout his career, Byrne was often mistaken for fellow Irish actor Edward Byrne.

Career

Byrne began his acting career in small roles in British films, performing in various genres including comedy and drama. He had a notable role as a town drunk in “Time, Gentlemen, Please!” in 1952, but afterward, he mainly took on smaller parts. His stage debut came later in his career at the Abbey Theatre, and he became more active in theatre by the mid-1960s.
